Application for Master's Theses at the Chair of Finance and Control

• Application deadlines: February 15, June 15, October 15


• The application form will be activated approximately two weeks before the deadline.

Application form

• After submission, your details will be automatically forwarded to the chair's office together with a current transcript of grades.


• Please indicate the following in the form:
  
  
  • Two topic preferences (first and second choice); you can find the topics in our list of master's thesis topics,
  
  
  • your desired start date,
  
  
  • any other required information about yourself and your academic background.

Start date

• The start date can be chosen freely, but should be no earlier than three weeks after the respective application deadline. Please enter your desired date on the form.

Selection process and allocation

• The selection process takes place shortly after the respective deadline.


• All applicants to the FRS Master's program are generally offered a place in accordance with their first priority, provided that the desired professorship has sufficient capacity.


• If the number of first priorities exceeds the capacity of a professorship, the university lecturers responsible for the degree program coordinate the distribution of available capacity. The second or third priority indicated on the form may be taken into account. It is ensured that all applicants receive a place for a master's thesis.

Notification and further steps

• After the application deadline, we will inform you if you have been accepted and ask you to let us know briefly whether you will be accepting the place.


• About one to two weeks later, you will receive another email with the name of your supervisor and an invitation to the event “Scientific Writing and Presenting“. In this approximately 60-minute session, formal requirements for the master's thesis and organizational questions will be discussed.
